These are the congressmen who voted against the censure of José Jerí

The now former president José Jerí He was eventually removed from office. After exonerating himself from the debate, with 75 votes in favor, 24 against and 3 abstentions, Parliament approved the motions of censure against the president in his capacity as head of Congress.

Among the congressmen who voted against the censure of Jerí are, mainly, the Fujimori bench and the Somos Perú bench, a party to which the president himself belongs.

Below is the list of all the congressmen who voted against the censure and, consequently, sought to save Jerí and keep him in the position of president:

With this result, José Jerí becomes the eighth president to leave power in just 10 years.

Now, Congress has until 6 pm today, February 17, to officially present the lists of candidates who will compete to assume the succession after the departure of José Jerí.

In addition, the president of Congress, Fernando Rospigliosi, reported that tomorrow, February 18, the session will be held in which the person who will assume the position of president will be officially designated.
