The US continues attacks on vessels in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea as part of its actions to stop maritime drug trafficking. According to reports, at least 144 people have died in the destruction of suspected drug ships.
The United States Southern Command reported this Tuesday the 17th on the destruction of three vessels that were transporting alleged drugs in the Eastern Pacific and the Caribbean.
The Southern Spear Joint Task Force carried out three “lethal kinetic attacks” against boats operated by “terrorist organizations,” leaving 11 dead.
«Intelligence confirmed that the vessels were transiting along known drug trafficking routes and were involved in drug trafficking operations. “Eleven male narco-terrorists were killed during these actions: 4 on the first boat in the Eastern Pacific, 4 on the second boat in the Eastern Pacific and 3 on the third boat in the Caribbean,” pointed out the Southern Command in its account on the social network X.

On February 13, the Southern Command announced another attack to a vessel that “transited known drug trafficking routes in the Caribbean and participated in drug trafficking operations.” The action caused the death of three people.

These new attacks bring to 144 the death toll from the Trump administration’s attacks on suspected drug ships, in at least 41 attacks carried out since early September in the Caribbean Sea and eastern Pacific Ocean.
The actions in the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean have been classified by international organizations as extrajudicial executions, questioning that both the Senate and the US Congress have not given permission for these actions. The Trump administration maintains that they are part of its plans to defend its territory and eliminate maritime drug trafficking that comes from terrorist organizations with operations in Latin American countries.
