The São Paulo carnival will have 40 blocks this Fat Tuesday (17th). The highlight is the frevo and the colors of Galo da Madrugada, which returns to the capital of São Paulo and opens the morning party on the Ibirapuera circuit, starting at 9 am, with its Frevo at Planeta Galo, with floats with a sustainability theme. At 2pm, the circuit hosts Bloco da Latinha Mix, with performances by Falcão, Maneva, Bateria da Rosas de Ouro and the electronic music duo Dubdogz.
The afternoon of the last day of Momo’s revelry favors those who like Latin sounds. The ¡SÚBETE! brings reggaeton to Bixiga, from 1pm, with a mix of DJs from the party and guests from the Perro Negro club, another house of the rhythm in the city. Also in the afternoon, Brás will have Bolivian folk songs presented at Chuta Choleros y sus Lindas Mamacitas.
The neighborhoods will be the right destination for the most resilient revelers, with blocks spread from Perus (north zone) to Cidade Ademar (south zone) and from Raposo Tavares (west zone) to Itaim Paulista (east zone). The central circuits, in regions such as Santa Cecília, República and Bixiga, will have parades throughout the day, remembering that the blocks in São Paulo end early, before 8pm.
In the interior of São Paulo, the festivities continue until a little later. In Campinas, Berravaca continues until 2 am on Wednesday (18), ending the parade of seven blocks in the city. The traditional carnival of São Luiz do Paraitinga begins with the Bico do Corvo block parade at 10pm, 12 hours after the first parade, by the Encuca Cuca children’s block.
On ABC, the cities of São Bernardo do Campo and Santo André will have programming during the afternoon and early evening. Those who like black music can check out Carna Black Ritmo, Identity and Celebration of Black Culture, in São Bernardo, at the Città Di Maróstica Youth Park, from 2pm. In Santo André the excitement will be with the band Caxambú, in the historic village of Paranapiacaba, from 2pm, at the Clube União Lyra Serrano Bandstand.
The coast also has parades. In Baixada Santista, Tuesday will have entertainment in Santos and São Vicente, with spaces for children and shows in the central region of both cities.
