MIAMI, United States. – A group of Cubans rebuked the regime’s chancellor, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, this Monday upon his arrival at the Viana Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spainin Madrid, where the Cuban official met with his Spanish counterpart, José Manuel Albares.

The reception of Rodríguez Parrilla by the Cuban exiles is recorded in several videos published on X by the protesters themselves.

“I had the pleasure of yelling at him as a criminal,” wrote Cuban activist Magdiel Jorge Castro when sharing one of the videos. “Shameful that Pedro Sánchez’s government receives this riffraff,” he added.

At the moment of the arrival of the Cuban official at the headquarters of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, shouts of “Shameless!”, “Long live Cuba!”, “Disgraceful!” and “Freedom for political prisoners!”

Furthermore, one hears people say: “Down with communism!” and “Down with the dictatorship!”, among other phrases.

According to The CountryRodríguez Parrilla arrived at the Viana Palace for a meeting with Albares. Foreign sources indicated to the Spanish media that the meeting “will be focused on the situation in Cuba and the next Ibero-American Summit,” scheduled to be held in Madrid on November 4 and 5.

The same report indicates that, at the doors of the ministerial headquarters, “a group of nine people” was awaiting the arrival of the Cuban Foreign Minister.

The chancellor of the Cuban regime had not visited Spain since April 2017. This is the third meeting between Albares and Rodríguez Parrilla: the first occurred in 2021, on the occasion of the Ibero-American Summit in the Dominican Republic, and the second in September 2025, during the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to various agenciesRodríguez Parrilla took advantage of his time in Madrid “back to his country” to request an interview with Albares. In the bilateral meeting, both ministers discussed “the current situation on the Island” and aspects of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting occurred in the context of one of Cuba’s deepest crises since January 1959. With his tour, which already took him to China and Vietnam, Rodríguez Parrilla would seek to strengthen alliances and gather support.

During his stay in China, the Cuban minister held diplomatic meetings with senior officials, including the head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party. In Vietnam, its previous stop, local authorities expressed their willingness to maintain support “within their capabilities” for the Cuban regime.
