Santo Domingo. – A 22-year-old girl died early this Monday after being injured when unknown persons shot at the vehicle in which she was traveling next to the urban exponent Ashley Mariel Victoriano Sánchez, known artistically as Masha, in an event that occurred in the National District.
The victim was identified as Dominique Gómez Cabrera, who was shot during the shooting that occurred around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of 27 de Febrero and Máximo Gómez avenues, reported police spokesman Colonel Diego Pesqueira.
Pesqueira added that the young woman was taken to a health center, where she died while receiving medical attention.
Also traveling in the vehicle were the named Jhakomo Hernández de la Rosa; another young woman and a second man. According to the authorities, one of these people is being interviewed as part of the investigative process, which is being carried out in coordination with the Public Ministry.
The attackers, who were traveling in another vehicle, fled after the incident. Investigation teams are carrying out surveillance cameras in the area to identify those responsible and clarify the circumstances of the attack.
The Police also reported that Jhakomo is listed as a fugitive from justice for a previous homicide case, so his location was activated and he was urged to surrender by the appropriate means.
It should be remembered that last December the urban artist was arrested during an operation in which, according to official reports at that time, marijuana was found in the vehicle in which she was traveling.
The case remains in an initial phase and under reserve, while investigations continue to determine responsibilities and the motive for the crime.
