Blue Crossone of the most popular clubs in Mexican soccer, recorded its fifth consecutive match without defeat on Sunday after winning 2-1 against UANL Tigers on the sixth day of the Clausura tournament. The ‘Celestial Machine’, which has not lost since the first day, reached 13 points to place itself in second place in the qualifying table, five points behind the undefeated leader, Chivas.
In the match played at the Cuauhtémoc stadium in Puebla, Cruz Azul took the lead in the 56th minute when Brazilian defender Joaquim Pereira scored in his own goal by passing the ball to Argentine goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán when he tried to cut off a pass from Carlos Rodríguez. Atlético San Luis thrashes Querétaro
In the other games on Saturday, Atlético de San Luis beat Querétaro 3-0, Pachuca beat Atlas 3-1, Monterrey defeated León 1-0 and Necaxa won 2-1 on its visit to Bravos de Ciudad Juárez. On Friday, champion Toluca defeated Tijuana 1-0, while Pumas UNAM came back from two goals down and won 3-2 as a visitor against Puebla.
