The Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (Caasd) put into operation a 48 inch pipe which was relocated to facilitate the construction of the tunnel at the intersection of Luperón and 27 de Febrero avenues, in the Plaza de la Bandera, in the National District.
The director of the institution, Felipe Suberví (Fellito), went to the place early this Sunday to supervise the jobs and verify that they were executed in accordance with the established technical guidelines.

The intervention was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, with the aim of speeding up the progress of the road solution developed by the Government in that strategic area of the National District.
Suberví explained that, in addition to the main pipe 48-inch lines, 16- and 36-inch lines were also relocated and interconnected. These jobs will allow increasing the pressure and flow of the drinking water service, positively impacting more than 30 sectors and benefiting some 300 thousand people.

Among the favored communities are Coplan, Creole CoastCosta Verde, Costa Azul, Atlántida, Nordesa III, Mar Azul, Absent Dominicans, Livestock Fair, May 30, El Caliche, Los Arrecifes, Las Antilles, Costa Brava, Pradera Verde, The Chiefdoms.

“In addition to supporting the Ministry of Public Works to expedite the jobs carried out by the Government in the vicinity of the Plaza de la Bandera, we took advantage to strengthen the operational capacity and improve the integration of the distribution networks of drinking water,” said the official.
With this action, the Caasd continues to advance its infrastructure modernization plan and continuous improvement of the water supply drinking in the National District.
