They dismantled three illegal mining camps and captured two people in Amazonas

The Venezuelan authorities dismantled this Sunday, February 15 three camps of illegal mining in the state of Amazonas. During the procedures they captured two men, including a citizen of Colombian nationality.

This was reported by the commander general of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez, via Telegram. The official explained that the security operation was carried out in the Yapacana parish, Atabapo municipality, of the aforementioned entity.

Illegal mining camps dismantled

According to Hernández Lárez, materials used for illegal mining in the Mina Mata sector were destroyed. Among these materials were motor pumps, high pressure hoses, PVC pipes and sieves to sift sand.

In addition, he specified that they safely evicted 22 illegal miners who were in the Carida Area. In the area, they arrested two subjects who were identified as Asdrúbal Ramón Reyes Solórzano, 22 years old, whom arrested for causing damage to the environment and nature in the area; and Luis Fernando Gómez Martínez, 21 years old, of Colombian nationality, who was found arrested in Mina Mata de Palma for illegal occupation of Venezuelan territory.

To the Colombian citizen A dose of suspected marijuana was seized that weighed 20.14 grams. He also had in his possession a rudimentary device for consuming narcotic substances.

The military personnel explained that both procedures were notified to the Public Ministry.
