In the 20th minute of the first half, midfielder Duda Rodrigues, ex-Flamengo, crossed from the left for Lurdinha. The former Fluminense player shared it with goalkeeper Amanda Coimbra and the ball was left for striker Miriã, who came from Cruzeiro, to send into the net. In the final stage, at 12, midfielder Rafa Mineira, who defended Internacional, received the ball at the edge of the area and finished in the corner, with no chance of defense. The Guerreiras Grenás, two-time national champions, sought a reaction, without success.

Seven first round games have already been played. THE TV Brasil broadcast Flamengo’s 1-0 victory over Mixto at Dutrinha, in Cuiabá, last Thursday (12); and Palmeiras beat América-MG, 4-0, at Arena Crefisa, in Barueri (SP), on Friday (13).

Two matches moved the competition last Saturday night (14). Current runner-up, Cruzeiro went to Salvador and defeated Bahia 2-0 at the Pituaçu Stadium, with two goals from striker Byanca Brasil.

Botafogo, back in the first division, hosted Juventude in Rio de Janeiro and won 2-1. Midfielder Ana Caroline, from the penalty spot, and center forward Fernanda Tipa scored for the Gloriosas at the Nilton Santos Stadium. Striker Martha Figueiredo scored for the Gurias Jaconeras.

The opening round of the Brasileirão comes to an end on Monday (16). Santos, champion of the last Series A2 (second division), hosts Grêmio at 7pm (Brasília time), at Vila Belmiro. Later, at 8:30 pm, Internacional will face São Paulo at Sesc Protásio Alves, in Porto Alegre (RS).
