The announcement was made within the framework of the celebration of the 8th edition of Dominicans in the Capitolan annual event founded and led by Congressman Adriano Espaillatwith the presence of the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in New York, Jesús “Chu” Vásquez Martínez.
Of agreement with Ramírez, the new Dominican passport incorporates a electronic microchip with biometric data —which includes fingerprintsdigitized photo and signature—and has more than 130 security measures to make any counterfeiting attempts difficult.
