The Minister of Defense of Venezuela, Vladimir Padrino López, considered this Saturday the amnesty law currently under discussion as “an act of forgiveness” for which he advocated, as well as “forgetting and reconciliation” in the country.
«The amnesty proposed by the president (in charge) Delcy Rodríguez is not a mere legal or political act, but an act of forgiveness and reconciliation. And when talking about forgiveness, which, as I have said, is an act of love, it does not mean validating what was wrong, but rather deciding that that pain no longer has the power to ruin our present,” he said.
In a message published on social networks on the occasion of the Day of Love and Friendship, the minister wrote that, regarding forgetting, “sometimes misinterpreted, it is not about erasing the memory, but about ensuring that the memory no longer hurts.”
«My call is for reconciliation, which is nothing other than accepting scars as part of the map of our lives. Love can do everything! “Long live human coexistence through forgiveness, forgetting and reconciliation!” he added.
Last Thursday, Parliament postponed the second and final debate necessary to approve the amnesty bill until next week.as there are differences due to the seventh article, which requires those accused and convicted to appear before Justice.
