Parricide. A father was accused of murdering his 14-year-old son and attempting to take his own life in the district of Pucará, province of Lampa, causing deep consternation among the population.
The police from the Juliaca Criminal Investigation Area and the representative of the Public Ministry carry out several procedures regarding this terrible event that occurred on Friday night.
The mother of the family, Andrea Gomel, confirmed that her son named Ángel MG (14) was attacked with a sharp weapon by his father, Isaías Morales Mamani (44). The deceased minor would have come to the defense of his 7-year-old younger brother who was attacked by his father.
The 14-year-old minor died at the Pucará health facility, while his younger brother recovers due to the cuts.
According to investigations, after the crime, the individual attempted to take his own life. He was then helped and transferred to a health facility in Puno where he was taken into police custody.
The family lives in the district of José Domingo Choquehuanca (province of Azángaro), bordering the district of Pucará where the events occurred. Neighbors and residents raised money for the minor’s burial.
