The art of loving

The art of loving

Singer Duani Ramos and sports journalist Glenda Torres began their love story unexpectedly. Their paths crossed while fulfilling professional commitments and, from then on, they understood that they were destined to meet.

“It all started with chance encounters during my national tour with the Moncada Group, while Glenda was participating in the National Baseball Series. We met in the same hotels in Guantánamo and Santiago de Cuba, but we didn’t see each other. It was in Granma where we finally introduced ourselves. Then we only greeted each other from afar; everything happened very quickly and always surrounded by a lot of people,” Duani recalls.

“Every time we said goodbye, I couldn’t help but want to see her again. I was looking for the perfect moment to express how much everything about her attracted me: her personality, her education and that figure of a woman who was so sensual and beautiful. The day came: we were at the opening of the series, she interviewed me and, at the end of the game, we had the Grupo Moncada concert. She went with her colleagues from television to see us. Then we all met at the hotel. After a long night-early morning, we all They went to sleep and, finally, they left us alone. I took the first step,” he says proudly.

Both emotionally evoke those initial moments in which they decided to give themselves a chance.

“Duani came into my life at the best time. I enjoyed being single and had no intention of commitment, but God had the best plan for me. Meeting him has been one of the greatest blessings. With him I learned what it means to have a beautiful love. Of course we have had ups and downs, like any couple, but the love we feel allows us to face and overcome any adversity,” says the communicator.

Delving into their story, Glenda remembers that as soon as they met, she had a trip abroad planned a fortnight later.

“At that time the communication was by email, because WhatsApp was not yet used in Cuba. He went to connect to the parks every day. His perseverance and dedication added up. When I returned, we consolidated the relationship. From the first moment he was loving, thoughtful and respectful to me. In addition, I loved the beautiful relationship he had from the beginning with my parents and my family.”

Duani adds that his partner arrived at the right time.

“I found her without knowing that I needed her. I knew about her professional qualities, but upon getting to know her in depth I discovered her immense personality, capable of confronting my strong character and even taming the Duani of that time. She managed to change my lifestyle for the better.”

“Glenda is a genuinely good person, something that I deeply value, as well as the affection and respect she shows towards my family. When I met her, first through television, I was captivated by her professionalism. I fell in love with her presence, her beauty and her elegance,” he adds.

Their relationship has not been without challenges, the same ones that have strengthened a union that is about to turn eight years old.

“In this time we have grown as a couple and as people. Every day we strive to continue together, loving each other on the basis of respect, which is essential, and with the desire for our family to continue growing. We are very blessed to have the love and support of our families,” comments the former Cuban Television news reporter.

For the winner of the Popularity Award of the second season of the “Sonando en Cuba” contest, love cannot exist without respect.

“That is the most crucial aspect for me. Another challenge is not falling into monotony. It is about stopping idealizing the couple, learning to negotiate real differences and prioritizing each person’s emotions.”

It is enough to exchange a few minutes with them to see that in this relationship, love and admiration walk hand in hand.

“From the first moment we have supported each other in our professions. Duani was my cameraman on many occasions in Cuba and here in Spain he also continues to be in the videos we recorded. He constantly gives me ideas, motivates me to improve myself and is always ready for whatever I need. I, for my part, support him unconditionally. I love seeing him grow professionally, that people celebrate him and that they continue to enjoy his beautiful voice.”

He remembers as one of the most memorable moments that trip to Mexico in which he proposed to her.

“Today we live far from the island, from our families and from our comfort zone. We have faced the world alone in a very challenging country, culture and bureaucracy. This has strengthened our mutual dependence. We are for each other. Together we overcome the daily obstacles of life as immigrants. It has been difficult, but everything is more bearable when we are together,” concludes the singer.

The action of loving

Another love story is the one between a couple who, in addition to sharing the same profession, share a deep mutual admiration. Actor Alejandro Palomino and actress Nora Elena Rodríguez have a relationship that has strengthened over the years.

“The moment when you realize that you are in love can come as a surprise. In my experience, that certainty appeared and materialized quite quickly, fortunately. Our relationship had from the beginning – and maintains – that capacity for unconditional dedication. It has always rested on passion, admiration, respect and tolerance. On that path we have also been accompanied by very challenging tests that, far from breaking us, shielded the relationship,” confesses the actress, remembered for her portrayal of Lucía in the soap opera Return to the heart.

For his part, the director of the Vital Teatro group He assures that the first quality to love in Nora is her natural stubbornness. “His passion, that rich couple culture, his keen observation and his demand for the truth,” he says.

With a firm voice, Palomino affirms that the relationship began a long time ago, although they are still discussing the first step — even though, she admits, she is right. “It all started just with looks that I offered him. Then we crossed paths and today we are a team armored. The reunion and robust exchange based on honesty and respect was very beautiful. We agree on many things, even coincidences.”

The genuine love they express is renewed daily with passion and complicity.

The graduate of the National School of Art emphasizes that both celebrate the other’s professional achievements independently. “That Palomino is congratulated for his work—and vice versa—drives us with enormous force toward new stages of life.”

“The most important thing has been the multiplicity of criteria and respect for dissent in everything we propose, both professionally and in daily projections,” he adds.

The face of the actor who gave life to Herminio in the soap opera Saturdays of glory he transforms when he talks about the woman with whom he has shared his life. “We have now been a couple for 30 years. Family losses and other profound challenges have left solid marks on our vision of life and what the action of loving means, in essence.”

Close to the public that follows their work in theater, film and television, both complement and support each other like the great duo they are on and off the scene.

“Love not only offers a range of colors to life – and that must be valued and defended – it also represents its very meaning. Without love, without that capacity to love that is cultivated every day, life loses meaning. Our relationship grows powerfully because we make it grow. We have that trained will,” reaffirms the actress, who has been part of television programs such as The other corner and In times of loving.

A story of unconditional love

The relationship between the actress is equally solid. Maria Teresa Pina and the actor and announcer Niro de la Rúa.

They met during a work activity in the Mayabeque municipality of Bejucal. That initial meeting gave way, over time, to a relationship built on communication and trust.

The announcer, a member of the program’s cast Midday on TV —today at noon— assures that it was he who took the first step, asking for her phone number with a banal excuse.

“His depth and intelligence conquered me. Since I arrived, his beauty, elegance and grace They had already captivated me. She has always been a beautiful and talented woman. I had the privilege of discovering from the beginning her courage, her loyalty to herself and others, her infinite sensitivity, honesty, integrity, independence, humility and sweetness. In short, with her I won the lottery.”

When remembering that moment, the actress who participated in soap operas The balcony of the ferns, Yet and Oh, Havana!admits that from the first moment he perceived something special in Niro.

“He arrived dressed all in black and I thought: ‘God, what a beautiful man’. That night we talked and he asked for my phone number. I thought he was looking for friendship; I didn’t realize he was really interested. Over time he started calling me and visiting me, until we became inseparable. We needed each other. We discovered each other and it has been an intense, great and dazzling love. For me it is the best thing that has happened to me in my life,” he confesses.

The relationship between Niro and María Teresa has been distinguished not only by its stability, but also by the connection they have maintained from the beginning.

After 18 years of union, the presenter who had a presence in the space From the great scene He highlights that “it is a constant enjoyment: union without conditions, listening to each other, being complicit in the slightest, laughing together, loving each other every day from ‘good morning, my love’, and admiring and respecting each other deeply. It has always been a party. I hope that God and life continue to give it to me.”

For María Teresa, this relationship is an example of what it means to build a life together. “One of the things I enjoy most is the time we share. Everything I do I do waiting for the moment to be together. It has never been difficult to maintain a relationship while we are both recognized people: we respect each other, we admire each other and we do not carry complexes or frustrations. It makes me happy that they recognize his values, and I know how happy Niro feels when they recognize mine.”
