The 3rd Trial Court of Puerto Ordaz (Bolívar) decreed a sentence of 24 years in prison for soccer teacher Wilmer Javier Mayorga (44), after admitting his responsibility for the sexual abuse of six children between the ages of 6 and 13, the Public Ministry reported.
The incident was detected on January 23, 2020 in the Santo Domingo sector of the town of Upata (Bolívar). That day, the Council for the Protection of Children and Adolescents of that town received a complaint about the sexual abuse that the teacher committed against the children he trained in the Bicentenario park in Upata.
Given this accusation, the personnel of that organization went to the home of the convicted man today to corroborate the situation, at which time one of the victims was there, who, when approached, confessed that the aggressor touched his private parts. The abuse was committed when he invited the children to play video games at his home.
