2-0: Independiente beats Lanús and remains undefeated

Independent defeated 2-0 Lanus to temporarily remain in second position in Zone A of the Argentine soccer Apertura Tournament. With goals from Matías Abaldo and the Paraguayan Gabriel Ávalos, the ‘Rojo’ – who ended up with ten players due to the expulsion of the Chilean Luciano Cabral – added their second victory and remain undefeated with nine points, two behind the leader Vélez Sarsfield.

Just yesterday, Friday, in the continuation of the fifth day, ‘Fortín’ tied 1-1 as a visitor with Defensa y Justicia, with goals from Juan Gutiérrez and Matías Pellegrini, who had just scored two goals the previous day against Boca Juniors.
