Independent defeated 2-0 Lanus to temporarily remain in second position in Zone A of the Argentine soccer Apertura Tournament. With goals from Matías Abaldo and the Paraguayan Gabriel Ávalos, the ‘Rojo’ – who ended up with ten players due to the expulsion of the Chilean Luciano Cabral – added their second victory and remain undefeated with nine points, two behind the leader Vélez Sarsfield.
