Complete guide to the new Independencia Avenue corridor: routes, stops and how it will work

The Dominican Government inaugurated the new bus corridor on Avenida Independencia, a project that modernizes public transportation in Santo Domingo and will benefit more than 40,000 passengers daily.

Routes and route

• The corridor covers 18 kilometers from kilometer 12 of Haina to Parque Independencia.

• It also connects with the Luis Eduardo Aybar Health City and Santo Domingo Metro stations, thanks to an integrated rate.

• The service will operate from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, with intervals of 5 to 7 minutes between buses.

Stops

• The corridor has 82 signposted stops along the route.

• These stops are strategically distributed to facilitate access to neighborhoods, work centers and public services.

Fee and payment

• The cost of the ticket is RD$35.

• You can pay in cash or by Visa and Mastercard cards.

• The fare is integrated, which allows transfers with the Metro at no additional cost.

Fleet and technology

• The corridor operates with 68 modern buses, each with a capacity for 90 passengers.

• The vehicles have GPS monitoring and drivers have received special training to ensure safety and efficiency.
