Milagros Jáuregui: MIMP orders progressive transfer of minors residing in 'La Casa del Padre' shelter

After it became known that several minor victims of sexual violence were exposed in a public activity held inside the shelter founded by the evangelical pastor and current congresswoman Milagros Jáureguithe Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP) was forced to take action due to the seriousness of the matter.

The MIMP made this decision after carrying out, last Monday, various supervision and verification actions in that private shelter that has been in operation for more than eight years. In that space, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, The presence of 29 adolescents and seven babies was confirmed, who must now be transferred to other reception centers, in accordance with the provisions of the MIMP.

A series of documentary evidence was also verified and general consultations were carried out with some adolescents under a comprehensive and non-revictimizing protection approach.

In addition, aspects related to confidentiality conditions were reviewed and image protection, internal protocols on dissemination of institutional activities, measures adopted to prevent situations of re-victimization; as well as the general conditions of the shelter founded by the parliamentarian of Popular Renewal.

The diligence was ordered by the provincial prosecutor Genaro Solís Quispe to verify compliance with the legal obligations that the shelter, located in Cieneguilla, has with the protection of the identity, dignity, privacy and comprehensive development of girls and adolescents, particularly those in situations of special vulnerability.
