Stepfather sentenced to 35 years in prison for child abuse in Perené

A 55-year-old man was sentenced to 35 years in prison after being found guilty of a crime against sexual freedom to the detriment of his 12-year-old stepdaughter, in events that occurred in the Santa Ana town center, Perené district, in the province of Chanchamayo.

The investigation was carried out by the First Office of the Joint Corporate Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Pichanaqui. According to what was stated at trial, the accused would have committed the acts when the minor was under his care, a situation that would have continued since the victim was eight years old. The case was brought to the attention of the authorities after a family member detected warning signs and the respective proceedings were initiated.

During the judicial process, provincial prosecutor Patricia Toribio Rivera and deputy prosecutor Rida Veracruz Chávez Quispe supported the accusation with various means of evidence, which allowed the Judiciary to issue the sentence. In addition to the prison sentence, the payment of S/ 10 thousand as civil reparation was ordered in favor of the injured party.
