One of the victims of the Satena plane crash.
News Colombia.
The video that moves the country today shows Gineth Tatiana’s last hug to her son at the Camilo Daza airport in Cúcuta. In the simple and everyday images, you can see the little boy leaning down to kiss his mother’s belly, a gesture of affection towards the little brother who was on his way. Gineth, with the serenity of a usual farewell, gives the blessing to her son, who also returns it with the same tenderness before parting.
That scene, which in any other context would have gone unnoticed, took on a heartbreaking weight when the outcome of the trip was known. Unknowingly, that exchange of love between mother and son would become the last farewell before Gineth boarded the Satena flight to Ocaña, a journey that was never completed.
Minutes after takeoff, the aircraft lost contact with the control tower, triggering alerts among aeronautical authorities. The disappearance of the flight generated immediate concern, as the route crossed a complex mountainous area between Norte de Santander and Ocaña, where weather conditions are usually variable.
Hours later, search teams confirmed the tragedy: the plane was found crashed in a rural area between La Playa de Belén and Hacarí, in Norte de Santander. The first images of the scene showed the magnitude of the impact and the impossibility of finding survivors among the wreckage of the aircraft.
The authorities confirmed that 15 people died in the accident, but it was actually 16, since Gineth Tatiana was pregnant. The news shook the community and thousands of people on social networks who, after watching the video of the farewell at the airport, felt the pain of the tragedy even more closely.
The video, which at first seemed like a common travel record, took on a deep meaning when what happened became known. Today, these images become a reminder of an unexpected goodbye and a gesture of love between mother, child and unborn baby, captured moments before destiny changed forever.
