How much will Peruvians spend for Valentine's Day?

This Saturday, February 14, Valentine’s Day is celebrated and the retail sector is preparing for a greater outlay. The president of the Retail and Distribution Guild of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), Leslie Passalacqua, explained that a person could spend up to S/300 for this date.

The Fiscal Council warns that the laxity of the MEF and the approval of laws without technical support by Congress will make it impossible to comply with fiscal rules, leaving the next president with a scenario of seriously deteriorated public finances in the country.

“We have had a good start to the year and a good thermometer that allows us to think that this campaign will be better. In addition, there is the advantage that this date falls on a weekend,” he explained to this newspaper.

The dynamism of this date, according to the representative of the CCL, will allow the turnover to reach S/630 million, given the diversification of the products and services offered.

Something that will also help growth is that today this campaign no longer only focuses on couples and friends, as families are seen gathering to celebrate a date like this.

Although classic gifts such as chocolates and flowers will still be present on this date, the truth is that there is a growing demand for giving experiences and entertainment. In that sense, dinners in restaurants, tickets to the cinema or the theater, adventure activities, among others, will be among the most in demand.
