A traditional celebration ended in an emergency last weekend afternoon in the Agua de las Vírgenes sector, El Tambo district, Huancayo province, where a young man was seriously injured when he was crushed by a tree during a forest-cutting party.
The affected person was identified as Libonio Huamanlazo (28), who was participating in the festive activity when the mountain suddenly fell and reached him, leaving him lying to the alarm of those attending.
Watchmen from the district went to the scene to help him and, after verifying that he had head injuries and a fracture in one of his arms, they immediately transferred him to the Daniel A. Carrión hospital. The young man remains hospitalized under medical observation.
