The Palácio do Planalto confirmed this Wednesday (11) that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will travel to three capitals during the Carnival holiday. The first stop will be in Recife, where the president will disembark on Friday night (13), coming from Brasília. NThe following day, in the morning, Lula attends the parade of the traditional Galo da Madrugada block, one of the biggest carnival events on the planet, which usually brings together an audience of over 2 million revelers on the streets of the center of Recife. He must be accompanied by the city’s mayor, João Campos, and the governor of Pernambuco, Raquel Lyra.
Still on Saturday, Lula leaves for Salvador. In the capital of Bahia, the president must attend the parade of electric trios in an official state government box, alongside governor Jerônimo Rodrigues and other allies.
In the city of Rio de Janeiro, Lula will follow, at Marquês de Sapucaí, the parade of the special group’s samba schools, especially the presentation of the newcomer Acadêmicos de Niterói, whose samba-plot pays homage to the president’s public life trajectory. The mayor of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, will be alongside Lula, who will also be accompanied by parliamentarians and allies.
The detailed schedule was not provided, but the expectation is that Lula will only return to Brasília on Monday (16), where he will spend the night. The following day, Tuesday (17), still in the morning, the president and his delegation will embark on an international trip to India and South Korea, which will take place between February 18 and 24.

Also this Wednesday, after Lula appeared with a small stain visible on his scalp, during an event at Palácio do Planalto, the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom) reported that the mark is the result of a procedure carried out last Sunday (8) to remove keratosis, which is an accumulation of skin, the appearance of which was associated with exposure to the sun. The intervention with cauterization of the lesion was carried out at a dermatology clinic in São Paulo with an electric scalpel, and lasted around two minutes, according to Secom.
