Public higher education institutions participating in the Unified Selection System (Sisu) 2026 began this Wednesday (11) the call for candidates on the waiting list to fill vacancies that might not be filled in the regular Sisu call.
Students who expressed interest in participating in the waiting list for just one undergraduate course are being called according to the order of classification, type of competition and availability of places.
Sisu brings together vacancies offered by public higher education institutions in Brazil that joined the selection process. Most of them are from the federal higher education network, with emphasis on federal universities and federal institutes.

Monitoring of calls
Those registered on the waiting list must check the results directly on the website of the chosen public university.
The candidate must follow the calls, observe deadlines, procedures and documents required for enrollment or academic registration, established in the university’s own notice.
In this same document, the public university must communicate the times and locations of service and electronic access is made available for academic registration and forwarding of documentation necessary for enrollment.
Declaration for registration
Candidates who took the National High School Examination in 2025 to obtain a high school completion certificate can obtain the digital declaration for pre-registration in higher education directly at Participant Page of Enem, with access login from the Gov.br platform.
The new feature was made available by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).
To obtain a declaration or certification of completion of high school through Enem, candidates over 18 years of age must have achieved at least 450 points in each area of Enem knowledge, in addition to obtaining at least 500 points in the essay.
Record number of vacancies
In 2026, Sisu offers more than 274 thousand places for 7.3 thousand courses available in 587 municipalities.
Of the total undergraduate places, 148.9 thousand (54.3%) are made available through Quota Law (Law No. 12,711/2012) and other affirmative actions specific to public higher education universities.
The Ministry of Education (MEC) confirms that this is the largest edition in the program’s history, with the participation of 136 public higher education institutions across the country.
In the last week, the MEC announced that 99% of Sisu 2026 vacancies were filled in the regular call and counted 271,789 successful candidates among 1.8 million applicants.
