The second collegiate court on administrative matters of the fourth circuit in Monterrey, Nuevo León, plans to resolve today the amparo lawsuit filed by the Oxxo company to be able to display tobacco products in its stores. Erick Antonio Ochoa, director of Salud Justa Mx, pointed out that the draft ruling prepared by Judge Cynthia Leal Garza proposes granting protection to the company, arguing that the technical elements are not available to reject the claim.
The above, despite the existence of the Framework Convention for Tobacco Control, promoted by the World Health Organization and signed by Mexico since 2004, as well as the same law in force in the country.
