The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Full National Prosecutor’s Office 88 with jurisdiction over Environmental Defense and Domestic Fauna was appointed to investigate and punish the facts related to the death of domestic animals in the Los Orientales alley, Carapita sector, Antímano.
“The @mpublicove under our management will not tolerate cruel and degrading acts against animals,” details a publication by the entity through the social network Instagram.
The criminal process was activated after multiple images of lifeless and mutilated cat bodies were broadcast, along with a man, which represents a gesture of extreme violence and cruelty.
Pressure from the Carapita community and protectionist groups forced the criminal authorities to trace the origin of the events, so it was determined that the events occurred exactly in Los Orientales alley.
It is expected that technical inspections will be carried out and the necessary evidence can be collected to clarify the causes of the deaths.
The MP described the discovery as a “serial mortality” of pets in the area and seeks to identify those responsible for this crime that violates the Law for the Protection of Free and Captive Domestic Fauna.
