Municipality of Río Branco calls a meeting to plan sports, cultural and social activities
All directors and representatives of different institutions, as well as organizers of different types of events, are summoned this afternoon for a coordination meeting.
Three areas of the Municipal Government – Sports, Culture and Communication – are working hard so that from the second month of the year it is known which days the activities will be carried out and will be reflected in an annual calendar.
Beyond the fact that there are several that have a defined date because they belong to different organizations and federations, there are others that are not and the idea is to refine details about them.
It is something that has traditionally been done in this Municipality and that the Administration of Mayor Federico López will maintain because it understands that it is positive for everyone: organizers, managers and the general public that attends and accompanies these events.
“This Tuesday the 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the House of Culture this meeting will be held to prepare the annual calendar of events” said the Sports Manager of the Local Government of Rio Branco.
“We have been doing it year after year for approximately a decade. I think that gives us an important order for all the activities that are coming up for the year 2026, not only sports but also cultural and social.” broad Mauricio Rivero.
“In that meeting, which will be held today late in the afternoon, we will be together with the Head of the Culture Area Miguel Cantera, with the Head of the Communications Area Agustín Figueredo and with Mayor Federico López to listen and to see the dates that all the references, that all the private parties that will organize events have for this 2026” he stated.
“In this meeting we will be discussing and analyzing the days that these activities can be done. Obviously there are already dates that we have marked, such as the departmental championships for both MTB and 5K, as well as the equestrian raid, which in this area there are 4 that take place in the year” Mauricio Rivero specified.
“The dates that are free, in this meeting we will be defining and organizing them in a good way for 2026” insisted the Head of the Sports Area of the Municipality of Río Branco.
INFRASTRUCTURE FOR EVENTS
It should be noted that Río Branco has Municipal infrastructure for carrying out different types of activities at all levels.
To cite some examples, the city has, since the Morel Administration – today the Mayor of Cerro Largo – a duly remodeled House of Culture, a Summer Theatre, a Public Swimming Pool, a Horse Riding Village, a Children’s Soccer Stadium and a Sports Center.
These types of coordination and, fundamentally, planning meetings are also important for optimizing the use of these resources that, many times, are added to the infrastructure available to the social and sports institutions of Rio Branco.
