The Public Ministry of São Paulo (MPSP) announced this Monday (9) that it will investigate overcrowding in carnival blocks on Rua da Consolação, central region of the capital of São Paulo, this Sunday (8). The investigation will be carried out through the Housing and Urban Planning Court of the Capital.
Two megablocks, Skol, which had DJ Calvin Harris as an attraction, and Acadêmicos do Baixo Augusta, were scheduled to parade at different times, but delays meant they ended up meeting. Due to the large number of people, there was a lot of confusion, commotion and revelers being pressed against the guardrails.
According to the Fire Department, 30 people were treated at the scene, without the need for referral to emergency rooms.

The confusion caused São Paulo City Hall, around 3pm, to activate a contingency plan to open the streets parallel to Consolação.
