Proposal that ends the 6x1 working day goes to the CCJ

The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (photo) (Republicanos-PB), reported today (9), in Brasília, that he forwarded the proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that deals with the end of the 6×1 work schedule to the Constitution and Justice Commission (CCJ). The text – authored by deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) – ends the 6×1 scale, of six days of work and one day of rest, and limits the duration of normal work to 36 hours per week. According to the proposal, the new schedule comes into force 360 ​​days after the date of its publication.

Currently, the Constitution establishes that the workload will be up to eight hours a day and up to 44 hours a week.

Compensated hours

The deputy’s proposal also provides for compensation of working hours and reduction of working hours, through an agreement or collective bargaining agreement.

Motta said that he added another proposal of identical content to the PEC, from deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG). The text also reduces working hours to 36 hours per week, with time compensation and reduction in working hours permitted, through an agreement or collective bargaining agreement.

The article, however, predicts that the new journey will come into force 10 years after the date of its publication.
