"We are not afraid": released prisoners arrive at Zone 7 and relatives deliver a list of prisoners

The relatives who have remained vigil since January 8 in Zone 7 expressed their satisfaction with the release of the political prisoners and indicated that they remain “united and firm” waiting for the release of their loved ones.

A caravan led by political leaders Juan Pablo Guanipa and Jesús Armas, released from prison on February 8, arrived outside the Bolivarian National Police, known as Zone 7, in Boleíta, Caracas, to accompany the relatives of the political prisoners.

The group met in the early afternoon in El Paraiso, in the west of Caracas, and from there they left in a caravan to El Helicoide where they expressed their support for the relatives and announced that they were joining the fight with them. Subsequently, the group of motorized vehicles left for the headquarters of the Bolivarian National Police.

Juan Pablo Guanipa, upon arriving in Zone 7, expressed that Venezuela has the right to be a free and democratic country. He urged those “illegitimately in power” to respect the rules.

At this moment, he said, the fundamental thing is to ensure that all political prisoners are released. «We demand the freedom of each and every one. We demand that this country begin a great process of democratic transformation that allows us to say: how good it is to live in Venezuela, how good it is to live with rules, how good a democratic country is…let Venezuela live free,” Guanipa emphasized.

Holding hands and shouting “we are not afraid,” former political prisoners and activists accompanied the relatives who remain vigil. Earlier it was reported an unusual security increase. In the front row were María Oropeza, Dignora Hernández and Catalina Ramos, leaders of Vente Venezuela, along with Armas, Guanipa and other released prisoners.

The relatives who have been on vigil since January 8 in Zone 7 expressed their satisfaction with the release of the political prisoners that occurred this Sunday and indicated that they remain “united and firm” waiting for the release of their loved ones.

The relatives handed over an envelope with the list of prisoners detained in the detention center.
