Within the framework of National Pisco Sour Daythe Presidency of the Republic highlighted the importance of this emblematic drink as a living expression of the cultural identity of Peru, whose official celebration takes place every first Saturday in February, in accordance with the provisions of current regulations.
Through its official social networks, the Presidency remembered this date with a message that highlights the cultural meaning of the flag cocktail.
“Its preparation brings together knowledge, techniques and customs that are part of the national gastronomic tradition and are transmitted from generation to generation, which is why it constitutes a living expression of the cultural identity of Peru,” says the published statement.
The Pisco Sour, recognized nationally and internationally, is a cocktail prepared with pisco, lemon juice, egg white, simple syrup and a few drops of Angostura bitters, a combination that gives it its characteristic foam and a unique balance of flavors. Beyond its recipe, the drink represents a synthesis of history, tradition and national pride.
The Presidency also recalled that, in 2007, Pisco Sour was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation, a recognition that reaffirms its value as a gastronomic symbol of the country and as part of the cultural legacy that identifies Peru to the world.

National Pisco Sour Day is officially celebrated on the first Saturday of February, in accordance with Ministerial Resolution No. 161-2004-PRODUCE, a rule that established this date with the objective of paying tribute to this traditional drink and promoting its dissemination as an emblem of Peruvian identity.
