The Secretary of Public Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, reported on the arrest of Mayor Diego Rivera Navarro as a result of Operation Swarm, a security strategy to combat extortion and that in recent months led to the arrest of three other municipal presidents in the State of Mexico.
Rivera Navarro was arrested with three other public servants from Tequila: the director of Public Security, the Director of Cadastre and Property and the Director of Public Works.
