After enjoying the dances with native costumes; The celebration of the Festival of the Virgin of Candelaria continues with one of the most anticipated moments: the dance competitions with light costumes that will take place on February 8, 9 and 10.
Music, glitter and devotion fill the city with the talent and energy of thousands of dancers in 97 sets of light costumes. This Sunday the contest will be held at the stadium of the National University of the Altiplano of Puno.
On Monday and Tuesday, the dancers and musicians will delight the public, national and foreign, with the traditional parade in veneration of the Virgin of Candelaria, patron saint of Puno.

Since previous days, thousands of visitors have already arrived in the capital of the region to be part of this great expression of faith and culture, accompanying and valuing the traditions that strengthen the Puno identity and project Puno as the capital of Peruvian folklore.

On Saturday morning, despite the rain, various groups and devotees participated in the dawn mass in the Sanctuary, then in the afternoon they held general rehearsals, ready for the dance competitions.
