The former manager of the Legal Department of the Mariscal Nieto Provincial Municipality (Moquegua), Derly Jesús Núñez Ticona, was arrested in Arequipa after being located after a family conflict with his ex-partner over the custody of his son. The meeting they had allowed police intervention.
The capture was carried out due to a current summons against him, due to a sentence from the Judiciary that imposed six years in prison, five years of disqualification from holding public office and a 365-day fine for the crime of aggravated collusion.
Alleged improper award
The case for which he was convicted is related to the improper award of a tender for the asphalt of the Los Pioneros association, carried out between July and August 2016. The economic damage to the provincial commune exceeded 160 thousand soles.
In addition, Núñez Ticona is being investigated for the attack and death of engineer María Carrillo Valdivia, which occurred in the early morning of July 15, 2025 on Army Avenue, in Arequipa. Security cameras identified a truck he owned as the vehicle that caused the accident.
