More than 60 Haitian immigrants detained in Loma de Cabrera

As part of the interdiction operations carried out on the border line, members of the Dominican Republic Army stopped to 66 Haitian nationals in irregular migratory status, who moved through mountainous areas in Cabrera HillDajabón province.

The arrest occurred after a day patrol will locate to foreigners while carrying out surveillance work in the Los Pomos section, in the vicinity of the Blue Creek River.

Details of those arrested

The group of undocumented immigrants was made up of 57 men, seven women and two minors of age, who hid in wooded areas to avoid being arrested.

  • The foreigners were delivered to the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) for the purposes of repatriation corresponding, according to a press release.
