Hoy No Circula is a program managed by the Environment Secretariat (Sedema) of Mexico City that seeks to reduce the pollution produced by vehicles in the capital and the State of Mexico. This improves the quality of the air you breathe every day.
To do this, it applies traffic restrictions to some cars, depending on their characteristics, license plate number and rubber color.
What cars do not circulate on February 7?
On this occasion, as it is the first Saturday in January, the restriction applies as follows:
– Vehicles with hologram 1 with non-plate termination (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9).
-Vehicles with hologram 2, regardless of the final license plate number.
-Foreign plates, regardless of hologram or finish.
Cars with these characteristics will not be able to leave Mexico City and surrounding municipalities of the State of Mexico from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Before leaving, check your hologram and the final number of your license plate to comply with Hoy No Circula Sabatino. You can check when you cannot circulate through the Sedema calendar, available here: https://hoynocircula.cdmx.gob.mx/
Cars that do leave without restrictions
This weekend, the following cars will be able to leave without circulation limitations:
-Vehicles with hologram 1, with even plate termination (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8)
-Vehicles with hologram 00 and 0, which are usually newer and have lower emissions.
-Electric and hybrid cars, exempt to encourage clean technologies.
