Sunad: we take more than half a million doses of drugs off the streets

Government authorities attached to police and military security agencies removed more than 500,000 doses of illicit substances from the streets. Such information was aired on the Instagram account of the National Anti-Drug Superintendency (Sunad), headed by Major General Danny Ferrer Sandrea.

“This result, achieved in the first days of 2026, is part of the detailed balance of the achievements in the fight against drugs in Venezuela,” says the statement released by Sunad.

This balance was presented by Ferrer Sandrea during a videoconference with the commanders of the social articulation units of the National People’s Guard Command and the state commissioners of the Sunad. Likewise, Ferrer Sandrea highlighted that more than 5 thousand patients have received care in specialized centers of the National Public System for the Treatment of Addictions.

In this activity, carried out in the National Command of the People’s Guard, the vice minister for the Supreme Social Happiness of the People, José Mendoza Rodríguez, was also present; the national commander of the People’s Guard, Major General Carlos Aigster Villamizar; and online directors of Sunad.

“These actions reflect the work of security organizations and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to protect society and guarantee a safe environment,” the statement says.
