As a result, Turra will remain in pre-trial detention in the Papuda prison, in Brasília, on charges of serious bodily injury.

THE pilot was arrested last week after attacking a 16-year-old teenager. The disagreement occurred over a piece of gum thrown at a friend of the victim, who remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Hospital Águas Claras, in the federal capital.

Last Monday (2), the The pilot’s arrest was also maintained by the Federal District Court of Justice (TJDFT). Judge Diaulas Costa Ribeiro understood that the arrest was necessary to preserve the investigations.

In the request for habeas corpusthe defense contested the arrest order at the first instance and stated that the pilot has a fixed residence, did not attempt to escape and cooperated with the investigations.

According to lawyers, Turra was arrested based on videos published on the internet, without contradiction or judicial validation. Furthermore, the defense said that the accused fears for his safety given the media exposure of the case.
