Santo Domingo.– The first stage of Line 3 of the Santo Domingo Oeste Cable Car will be completed in December 2026, according to what was verified this Thursday by the Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, during a supervision tour of the construction work of this mass transportation project.
The inspection was carried out together with the executive director of the Trust for the Development of the Mass Transportation System of the Dominican Republic (FITRAM), Jhael Isawho explained that the project registers significant advances and is executed according to the established schedule.
The Cable Car Line 3 will have seven seasons located in María Montez, Buenos Aires de Herrera, Painting, Ensanche Altagracia, Café de Herrera and Carretera Sánchezin addition to a connecting section to Quita Sueño de Haina. The project includes the installation of bollards along the route and the construction of a urban park on the roof of one of the stationsintegrating the system with public spaces.
During the visit, Paliza highlighted that the work will have a direct impact on the quality of life of residentsbeing part of the initiatives of the Dominican Government to modernize public transportationreduce levels of traffic congestion and offer a safe, efficient and sustainable mobility alternative.

“An important part of citizens’ time is currently lost commuting between work, home and educational centers. Therefore, this project is part of the Government’s actions to face the challenges of mobility, improve traffic and ensure that Dominicans invest less time in their travels,” said Paliza.

For his part, Jhael Isa reiterated the authorities’ commitment to comply with the established deadlines and strengthen connectivity in the municipality.

“Currently progress is being made in the construction of the structural columnsthe assembly of the stations and the placement of bollards along the route, as well as the preparation of the track and the prefabricated components of the system,” Isa explained.
