The mayor of the Provincial Municipality of Trujillo (MPT), Mario Reyna Rodríguez, justified yesterday the expenditure of S/ 250 thousand that he made to finance a cumbia concert at the Mansiche stadium for the 205th anniversary of the Independence of Trujillo. What’s more, he announced that a new event is being organized to celebrate the Marinera Festival, which would also generate expenses for the municipal entity.
YOUR REASONS
The mayor said that due to the lack of authorizations and guarantees the event could not be held in the Plaza de Armas of Trujillo, where it was initially planned to be held and they had to choose to move it to a closed space, which generated a greater investment.
“It was the anniversary of Trujillo, it is 205 years that we have celebrated. Initially the costs were going to be much lower, because it was going to be in the main square, but we had to rent one thing and another, because they did not give us authorization. But I have not brought Corazón Serrano, we have brought a billboard of renowned artists, but who charge much less,” mentioned
NOTHING BAD
However, he insisted that there was “no damage” and it was worth it “because it was a tremendous spectacle.”
“At least 20,000 Trujillo residents have been at the Mansiche stadium with security, fireworks, everything,” he added.
Mario Reyna indicated that all municipalities make this type of expenditure, but due to “political issues” they always question the MPT.
To obtain the S/ 250 thousand that allowed financing the contract of the musical orchestras, resources had to be requested from areas such as Neighborhood Participation, Local Economic Development Management, Business Development and Tourism Deputy Management, Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Management.
Finally, Mario Reyna stated that the MPT will hold a new concert for the Marinera festival, which will also involve an expense.
