The vice president of the Republic, Raquel Penastated that teacher training is a priority for the Government headed by President Luis Abinader, which strives to improve the quality of public education.
By leading the project launch event Inafocam Digitalan innovative technological infrastructure aimed at modernizing, streamlining and expanding teacher training and updating processes in the country, Peña expressed that the Government is committed to improving access and educational quality of boys, girls and adolescents.

“It opens the way to a more structural transformation in the way in which the State accompanies the teaching profession, a transformation that prepares us to be more competitive, but above all more digital-friendly and more human,” he stated.
Likewise, he highlighted that Inafocam Digital it’s not just one technological platformbut an instrument that will contribute to facing the challenges that still persist in Dominican education, especially in relation to access to technologies and educational quality of the students.
For her part, the executive director of the platform, Siullin Joa Leónpointed out that Inafocam Digital represents “a institutional step significant that expresses how we understand the teacher traininghow we assume public management and how we respond, with responsibility and vision, to President Luis Abinader’s commitment to educational quality“.
Digital transformation
He stressed that the teacher training is a national causesince the teacher constitutes the starting point of all educational transformation. “When a teacher learns, his students do too. Every knowledge, tool or competence that strengthens a teacher translates into better learning for boys, girls and young people,” he stated.
At the launch event, held in the main auditorium of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), attended by the rector of that academy, Editrudis Beltran; the director of the Dominican Institute for Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (IDEICE), Jesús Andújar.
Also the general director of the Government Office of Information and Communication Technologies (OGTIC), Edgar de Jesus Batista Carrasco, and the director of the National Statistics Office, Mildred Gabriela Martínez Mejía, among other officials.
