Flights between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela will begin reactivate after almost two years of suspension, hence Dominican airlines prepare to resume operations to Venezuelan territory.
The reopening was approved by the Civil Aviation Board through Resolution 24-2026, adopted in an extraordinary session held on February 2, in an agreement between both governments.
The measure authorizes the resumption of passenger, cargo and mail flights, after operations were suspended since July 29, 2024 by decision of the Venezuelan regime, then headed by Nicolás Maduro, the Presidency of the Dominican Republic reported.
In the case of national airlines, the resolution enables Red Air and Sky High Aviation Dominicana to resume the route to Venezuela. However, information published by Arecoa and Free Diaryother companies are also making adjustments and preparations to join this market, under the current bilateral air transport agreements.
Airlines reorganize flight programs
The president of the Civil Aviation Board, Héctor Porcella, explained that Authorized airlines already have the corresponding permit and they are reorganizing their flight schedules to join the route as soon as possible.

Currently, under the bilateral agreement, foreign airlines such as RAV, Rutaca, Laser, Turpial Airlines and Avior Airlines, while on the Dominican side there are Red Air and Sky High Aviation Dominicana, according to official information released by the Presidency.
The Civil Aviation Board reiterated that the reopening will be carried out in an orderly and safe manner.
