Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), gave 15 days for the government of Rio de Janeiro to send to the management of the Federal Police (PF) the cameras and images captured during Operation Containment, which took place in October last year in the Penha and Alemão complexes. The decision was signed this Wednesday (4). 
Considered the most lethal operation in Rio de Janeiro in recent years, the Operation Containment The objective, according to Public Security of Rio de Janeiro, was to contain the advances of the Comando Vermelho. 122 people were killed, including 5 police officers.
According to the decision, the equipment and images must undergo inspection by the PF. The corporation must present reports of the work carried out.
The minister’s decision was taken in the process known as ADPF das Favelas – Arguição de Descumprimento de Preceito Fundamental (ADPF) No. 635. In the action, the Court has already determined several measures to reduce lethality during operations in communities in Rio de Janeiro.
