The Comptroller General of the Republic announced that it will investigate the hiring of several young women who held meetings with the president José Jerí in the Government Palace and, later, they obtained positions in State entities. The control body delivered letters to the Presidential Office, to the Ministry of Education and to Ministry of the Environment to send complete files of service orders and contracts signed from October 2025 to date.
Among the people included in that request are five young people who visited Jerí in the Palace and later obtained contracts or service orders in different instances of the State, including Rubiel Cristina Beraún Rojas, Fiorella Jannette Melgarejo Sánchez, Alicia Alexandra Camargo Leiva, Violeta Beas Otero and Guadalupe Vela Ramírez.
The Comptroller’s Office has also requested information on the hiring processes in the aforementioned ministries, a step that occurs in parallel with investigations by the Public Ministry for alleged irregularities in hiring linked to visits to the president.
