The head of the Technology and Information Office of the Ministry of Education Daniel Maldonado reported yesterday that the assignment of vacancies in the Digital Enrollment 2026 process will be in charge of the directors of the educational institutions and will not be random as in previous years.
He explained that the applicants will be selected according to criteria established by the Minedu such as the age at the time of requesting the vacancy, the type of school (men, women), the proximity of the home, if the student has any physical problem and the number of siblings, among others.
In Tacna there are 2,400 applications
He indicated that these criteria are evaluated by the system, however, it will be the directors who will review whether they have been met by the applicants.
He noted that in the first phase that began on January 19 and ended on the 30th in Tacna, 2,400 requests for vacancies were registered for the city’s educational institutions.
Teachers are validating data
This week, as part of the second phase, teachers are validating the data they have entered for parents, a process that will culminate tomorrow, February 6. The directors will then be in charge of assigning the vacancies. If a parent is not satisfied with the result, they can appeal to Ugel, the Minedu official said.
Until 2024, the assignment of vacancies within the framework of the Digital Enrollment was random among all the applicants who registered.
