Authorities from the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) and the National Port Administration (ANP) coordinated new actions in Montevideo to improve passenger service in the port terminals of Colonia and Montevideo, strategic points of river-maritime transport and regional tourism.
According to the Visión Marítima report, the vice president of the ANP, Constante Mendiondo, participated; the general manager, Andrés Nieto; agency technicians; the Minister of Tourism, Pablo Menoni; and the national director of Tourism, Cristian Pos.
During the meeting, the authorities reinforced security measures for passengers and vessels under the current Port Protection Code. In addition, they analyzed progress in infrastructure works at the Colonia Fluvio Marítima Terminal and maintenance work at the Montevideo Passenger Terminal, with the aim of optimizing the quality of service, operations and user experience.
“These actions are part of the joint strategy to strengthen the passenger port system and consolidate ports as key gateways for inbound tourism in the country.”
