In the midst of the crisis that Petroperuthe company’s board of directors agreed to cancel the International Contracting Process linked to the company’s Comprehensive Transformation Service.
This procedure began as part of the emergency decree 013-2024, which was issued in September 2024, within the framework of the restructuring of the public oil company. Through this measure, the state company was empowered to hire a specialized service for the design and management of the transformation.
With the entry of Alejandro Narváez to the presidency that year, it was agreed to form a committee in charge of developing the bases of the hiring process. In February 2025, this group began a period of market research with the participation of specialized firms in the sector.
On September 26, 2025, the first call was published, but it was declared void on November 7. On the 19th of that month, the second international call came out and it was estimated that the award would be delivered on December 16, but that deadline was postponed until February 23, 2026.
However, the recent decision of the board changes the entire picture. And, within the framework of emergency decree 010-2025, published on December 31, 2025, it was established that Proinversión would design, conduct and comprehensively execute the asset reorganization, therefore, the continuity of the contracting procedure is considered “unnecessary.”
“Petroperú reaffirms its commitment to carry out the corresponding actions, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in order to ensure the operation of the company and the execution of the asset reorganization process, aimed at its comprehensive transformation and sustainability,” the company said in a statement.
