Visit of Pope Leo XIV to Peru is 80% confirmed and would be between November and December

The Peruvian Episcopal Conference (CEP) reported this Wednesday, February 4, that the Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Peru is 80% confirmed and what would be done between the month of November and the first week of December of this yearalthough some aspects of the official agenda still remain to be finalized.

The announcement was made during a live press conferenceheaded by the president of the CEP, Carlos García Camaderwho specified that the conversations with the Holy See are advanced, but that the final date will be confirmed once the corresponding protocols have been concluded.

Tentative date of papal visit

As reported by the CEP, the trip of the Pope Leo XIV is found in an advanced stage of coordinationwith a high probability of materializing towards the end of the year.

“It can be said that the visit is 80% confirmed and that it is planned between November and the first week of December,” president of the CEP.

The information was released after the recent of the Peruvian bishops to Vaticana meeting in which pastoral and social issues and the situation of the Church in Peru were addressed, in addition to the possibility of the pontiff’s trip.

The CEP also reported that, in the coming days, any official progress regarding the agenda, cities to visit and activities that the Holy Father would carry out in the country will continue to be communicated.

Expectation for the Pope’s link with Peru
