Delcy Rodríguez affirms that differences with the US must be resolved through diplomatic means

Rodríguez pointed out that relations with the United States must be guided by “respect for international legality” and “interpersonal respect.”

Delcy Rodríguez affirmed that Venezuela has “transmuted” into tranquility and peace the impact of the United States attack on January 3 that ended with the capture and extraction of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.

One month after the US military incursion, the head of the Executive assured that differences with the United States must be resolved through diplomatic means and political dialogue.

From the Miraflores Palace, in the company of the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, and the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, Delcy Rodríguez pointed out that “today more than ever” we must take care of peace.

“The people recovered from this attack and have taken important steps in the direction of the national meeting…the differences, the divergences with the United States must be resolved diplomatically, through political dialogue,” he asserted.

Rodríguez referred to the telephone conversations he has recently had with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and with the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. “That must be the way, respect for international legality, interpersonal respect, knowing that we can build a work agenda based on our differences.”

On the afternoon of this Monday, February 2, the United States chargé d’affaires in Venezuela, Laura Dogu, who arrived in Venezuela on Saturday, January 31, held a meeting with Rodríguez in which Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly, also participated; Yván Gil, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Félix Plasencia, new representative of Venezuela to the United States.

At the meeting, Dogu emphasized the three phases that Donald Trump’s government demands to comply with, after the capture and extraction of Nicolás Maduro: stabilization, economic recovery and reconciliation, and transition.
