Eight-year-old boy shot to death by stepbrother

Three-year-old girl died when her home burned

An eight-year-old boy died after being shot by a shotgun that his stepbrother allegedly accidentally handled, according to reports.

This event occurred last Wednesday in the Chirivital sector, Puerto Miranda, Esteros de Camaguán municipality, limits of Guárico and Apure. In the house where the minor lived, he and his 13-year-old stepbrother were playing with a shotgun. Thus, the stepbrother allegedly activated the gun accidentally, shooting the 8-year-old in the chest.

Their father heard the shot and walked towards the house where he found the badly injured child. He was then taken to a health center, but he died on the way. The Cicpc opened an investigation to clarify the fact.

Infanticide

In another incident, Cicpc agents detained María de los Ángeles Urdaneta González (20), mother of a murdered one-year-old girl, and her stepfather, Carlos José Romero González (25), in La Villa del Rosario de Perijá (Zulia). The events occurred on January 11, in the La Playa sector of the El Rosario parish from where the little girl was urgently transferred to a care center by the couple, who told the doctors on duty that the girl had accidentally fallen out of her bed and that they had found her dying on the floor, and that, despite providing her with aid, she died, the report says.

However, after technical-scientific expert work, the scientific police investigations determined that the version was false: Carlos Romero used to mistreat the girl because he did not like children. On the day of the incident, the aggressor brutally beat her until she was unconscious, all of this with the mother’s full knowledge.
