One month after the attacks that occurred on January 3, the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that the Venezuelan people have matured the impact of the external military armed attack by a nuclear power and transmuted the aggression into peace and tranquility.
«Venezuela has transmuted and matured the impact of aggression by the United States into tranquility, into caring for peace more than ever. Extremism sought chaos the next day, to disturb the tranquility of the country, but the Venezuelan people with great maturity and conscience recovered from this attack and have taken important steps in the direction of the national meeting,” she said from the Miraflores Palace, accompanied by the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez and the Sectoral Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.
He also highlighted that the rejection of this type of aggression is something that has united the Venezuelan people and that the people are aware that differences with the US government must be resolved through diplomacy, through political dialogue.
“I have held conversions with President Donald Trump and the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and that must be the path (…) and with respect for international legality, interpersonal respect, knowing that we can build a work agenda based on our differences,” he expressed.
He recalled that the relations between the US and Venezuela go back many years and have had ups and downs, which is why he considers that the attack on January 3 is “a stain” on these relations. “We have to work with effort and respect to overcome our differences. Today we have seen a great march in support of the freedom of President Maduro and the first lady, Cilia Flores, who were kidnapped that early morning of January 3.
Rodríguez highlighted that after the events, the institutions were activated immediately, where there was a ruling from the Supreme Court of Justice that dictated the charge that fell to her, as she was the executive vice president of the nation.
“From there we have been building spaces for meeting: the program of democratic coexistence and for peace, the political dialogue led by the president of the National Assembly, the Commission of the revolution for the justice system, we have presented to the Judiciary an amnesty law that allows carrying out a national policy. Venezuelan politics must be nationalized among Venezuelans.”
The president in charge also highlighted that only few Venezuelans, from an extremist position, applauded the Venezuelan aggression, the external attack, that they do not fully understand that the Venezuelan people want to preserve their sovereignty, their independence, in tribute to our liberators, and above all things to preserve peace and tranquility.
«Extremism has been completely isolated from national life. We have given an opportunity, but we have also been very clear that there must be respect for the laws of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, that there must be respect in the exercise of the country’s jurisdiction. Differences are welcome, both in our country and with countries in other latitudes. “Bolivarian peace diplomacy is the way,” he stated.
Given this, he highlighted that this Tuesday he received the credentials from the ambassadors of Qatar, Nicaragua and Italy. “There we discussed work agendas that we can build for the benefit of the Venezuelan people,” he said.
He also made reference to the meeting held with the US representative. “Respect does not take away anything from anyone, courtesy adds to it, and I believe that is what we are demonstrating to the world and to international relations.”
The country is calm
“The country is calm, calm, but it has a national cry, which is to ask for the freedom of President Nicolás Maduro and the combatant Cilia Flores” and FD,” he expressed. “This is a great victory for the Venezuelan people,” he added.
He recalled that a few days after the aggression, he had a lunch with ambassadors of the European Union, “who expressed their impact because Venezuela, a few hours after that aggression, was calm, in tranquility, it is working its own path for economic development and social happiness, a future of hope.
